FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS

STORM WARNING: The current administration has drastically cut operating funds and eliminated critical positions and programs at NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS). Over the years, NOAA Magazine covered many stories about NWS and its plans and programs. In April 1977 it published an article about flash-flood warning systems. Obviously technology has improved since then. But if systems are not funded, upgraded, or installed, warnings may be delayed or not delivered to those in danger...
